for special Banquet/Reception Manager (only)

 Monitor event activities to ensure that catering services and event logistics are executed in compliance with applicable regulations and laws (including Kosher laws and restrictions and Jewish ritual observances), to the satisfaction of all participants, providing effective and timely problem resolution; confer with staff at chosen event site to coordinate details; inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements; work closely with clients to identify event preferences and how to accomplish these in compliance with Kosher dietary laws and restrictions and Jewish ritual observances; prepare and manage event budgets based on limits established by clientele; plan Kosher menus in consultation with chefs and clients; manage Kosher food and beverage provision for (banquets/events), including managing inventory control, determining ordering needs and preparing order requests; establish and monitor master (banquet/catering) schedule; plan and manage final execution of events, including: venue and third-party vendor compliance with kosher laws and restrictions and Jewish ritual observance; selection, training and direction of participating servers and other employees with regard to Kosher compliance; transfer and delivery of prepared food and provisions to event venue; and scheduling of final inspection by masgiach (Kosher supervisor); manage and monitor pre and post event customer service activities; track resources utilized, profit margins, venue and staff performance, and customer satisfaction and prepares post-event and periodic reports for management; responsible for marketing, negotiating and closing large event sales (min. 150-200 guests) among corporate, institutional and social groups; initiate, develop and cultivate strategic partnerships with hotels and other venues, third-party vendors and event planners, transportation providers, local temples and Jewish private schools.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher (or academic/experiential equivalent) with business administration, marketing and/or management concentration; 3+ years of experience as Catering or Banquet Manager in Kosher establishment; minimum 3 years of successful experience in Kosher banquet marketing and sales; excellent oral and written communication skills; outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; in-depth knowledge and experience concerning Kosher dietary laws and restrictions and Jewish ritual observances; proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; advanced ability to use Excel to track statistics and produce comprehensive management reports
